These downloads begin and end at OR41, across the road from the main lot, and include the marked entrance trail to OR42. Measured track lengths are approximately 2.546 miles short and 2.973 miles full, rounded to about 2.6/3 miles. Walking within the parking lot and crossing to OR41 are additional. Small source-data gaps remain at junctions; follow signs and the official map. This plan has not been field-scouted, and elevation gain has not been verified.
Follow these trail markers
Find Orange
Parking → OR41 → OR42Meet at the main lot’s map/payment kiosk beside the restrooms. Cross Cochran Mill Road at the marked trail access, then follow Orange to OR42. The GPX begins at OR41 across the road; follow the marked entrance trail to OR42.
Orange outward
OR42 → OR43 → OR46 → OR47Follow Old Cochran Mill Road toward the Green bridge junction, with Owen Mill waterfall viewing near the beginning. The data contain two OR43 labels: follow the chosen track toward OR46, not the short Owen Mill Ridge loop.
Bridge and Berry waterfall
OR47 → bridge → G56 → G57 → G58 → G60 → G61Cross the bridge onto Green. Stay on the creek-side path and established outcrop route to the Berry Mill viewing area.
Retrace the waterfall spur
G61 → G60 → G58 → G57Return along the same Green path. Do not cross the waterfall, dam or creek to shortcut back to Orange.
Recommended short return
G57 → G56 → same bridge → OR47Skip the woodland extension for our approximately 2.6-mile plan. Only the optional approximately 3-mile route uses G57 → G66 → G56; stay east of Cochran Mill Road at G66.
Complete the Orange loop
OR47 → OR48 → OR49 → OR50 → OR45 → OR44 → OR43 → OR42Continue on Orange through the shoals/dam area and the woods. Stay on the chosen route at shortcuts, then follow the marked entrance approach via OR41 back to the main lot.
Need an earlier return? From OR47, retrace OR46 → OR43 → OR42 → OR41 to the lot. Skipping Green entirely leaves the official 1.6-mile Orange loop, plus the lot approach. Do not add distant Henry Mill Falls to this outing.
Pack for a warm morning
- At least 2 liters of water, extra water in the car, electrolytes and a snack.
- Grippy trail shoes, lightweight clothing, sun protection and bug repellent.
- A charged phone, power bank, saved guide and offline map.
Waterfall viewing; water entry is not part of the planned hike. Stay clear of slick edges, waterfalls and dams. We won’t ford the creek or use the water as a shortcut.
Check trail notices at the kiosk. Park hours are 30 minutes before sunrise to 30 minutes after sunset. In an emergency, call 911 and give the park name and nearest trail marker.
